๐ณ Payment Declined? Hereโs What to Do
๐ณ Payment Declined? Here's What to Do
Why was my card declined even though I have enough funds?
Itโs almost certainly your bank, not us.
Your bankโs fraud prevention system flagged this transaction as a precaution. This happens quite often with international online purchases โ even when everything on your end is correct (billing address, CVV, etc.).
The error we received from our payment gateway (UseePay) was:
โIntercepted by card issuer risk control systemโ
Thatโs bank-speak for:ย โWe stopped this charge just to be safe, not because anything is wrong with the card.โ
What should I do right now?
Option 1 โ Call your bank (fastest fix)
Call the number on the back of your Mastercard and tell them:
-
You're trying to make aย $*** USDย online purchase.
-
You authorize this charge.
-
Ask them to whitelist or approve this specific transaction.
Most banks resolve this in minutes once you confirm itโs legit.
Option 2 โ Try another card
If you have another credit or debit card handy, try that instead. Many customers find that their second card goes through without any issue.
Option 3 โ Wait and retry
If you canโt reach your bank right now, you can also try again later. Sometimes banks temporarily flag a first attempt but approve a second one.
Will I be charged twice or see a pending hold?
No.ย Since the transaction was declined by your bank, no actual charge went through.
You might see a temporary โpendingโ or โpre-authorizationโ hold on your account โ thatโs normal and will drop off automatically withinย 2โ5 business daysย (depending on your bank). You wonโt be billed.
Why did this work last time but not now?
Bank fraud algorithms are constantly changing. A transaction that went through yesterday could get flagged today โ especially if:
-
Youโre traveling or using a VPN.
-
The purchase amount is slightly different from your usual pattern.
-
Your bank recently updated its security rules.
Itโs nothing personal โ just modern banking doing its (overprotective) thing.
I already called my bank โ now what?
Great! Once they confirm theyโve lifted the block, simply go back to checkout and try the same card again. It should work immediately.
If it still fails, please reach out to us atย [your support email]ย with the time of your attempt, and weโll check our system logs to help troubleshoot further.
Quick tip for contacting your bank
When you call, mention this exact error message โ it helps their support team find the issue faster:
โPayment failed โ intercepted by card issuer risk control systemโ
And remind them:ย you are authorizing this $*** USD charge to [your store name].
